How it is made

The classic cotton version combines dyed warp yarns with white weft yarns. Both directions remain visible through the one-over, one-under crossings.

How to recognize it

Look for a subtle two-color grid, usually with more similar faces than a warp-faced denim.

What to distinguish

A blue color does not make chambray denim: chambray is plain-woven, while conventional denim is twill.
