Dotted Swiss
A light cloth decorated with small spaced dots, often visibly raised.

Traditional examples use fine plain-woven cotton with additional woven dots. Later versions use embroidery, flocking or printing, so inspect the reverse and the dot surface.
How to recognize it
A light ground separates small isolated spots; textured dots may stand above it.

What to distinguish
A flat polka-dot print is not the same construction as a woven clip-spot or embroidered dotted Swiss. The name covers several manufacturing routes.
