How it is made

Floats and binding points are distributed to suppress the obvious grid or diagonal of basic weaves. Many different repeats can produce this effect.

How to recognize it

Look for a small-scale pebbled texture with no strong continuous rib.

What to distinguish

Crepe fabric can also gain its texture from highly twisted yarns or finishing; a crepe appearance does not prove crepe interlacing.
