How it is made

Each layer has its own warp and weft system in a typical double-cloth construction. Layers can exchange positions at selected places, making reversible patterns or pockets between them.

Examine both faces and an unfinished edge for two connected layers.

What to distinguish

Double cloth is made during weaving; two separate fabrics glued or sewn together are not automatically double cloth.
